An idjit just jaywalked w/ cars coming at him, lit a cigar in bus shelter where there's no smoking, then jaywalked again. Hope he dies soon.

Edit: had to say "jaywalked" due to character constraints on the text message, but really he walked at the crosswalk when it said "Don't walk" and there were cars coming at him; he almost got run over several times. I think he crossed the street just to light his fucking cigar inside the bus shelter, where I was sitting. Gods, I hate people who ignore the "no smoking inside bus shelter" signs. They make me want to put their cigars/cigarettes out IN THEIR FUCKING EYE.

A thought.

I was thinking, earlier, about going back in time and inventing the pulley, explaining how it works to them with "Pull up by pulling down, have gravity on your side." Then it occurred to me that the theory of gravity is relatively new, so I began to wonder, "How did they refer to gravity before they had a word for it?"

Think about it... gravity is such an important concept to us these days, but how did they refer to it before Newton came up with his theory of gravity?

An important distinction

Cop on tv: "People like firemen better."
Me: "That's because firemen perform an essential service for society."
Friend of mine: "So do the police."
Me: "Firemen perform an essential service for society. The police perform an essential service for the state. There's a BIG difference."
