We spend 9 months in a warm, wet place, all our needs taken care of for us, then we are ripped kicking and screaming, bloody and covered in our mom's feces, from that warm, dark, wet place into blinding light, breathing in a gas that is actively toxic to us just to keep living - a gas that is literally used as rocket fuel (thus we are burning to death slowly from the moment we are born), and then as we get older, more and more of the business of staying alive becomes our own responsibility. More and more stress is added to our load the older we get.

Then, the odds are pretty good you've been born to a family that is either starving to death or is constantly hungry and fighting for the basic amenities. The stress from that is only added to, until it's past the breaking point, and we just keep going.

We fall in love, that love is taken away from us in one way or another eventually, or denied us completely.

All our lives, we get more burdens and fewer joys. As we get older, we lose our sense of taste and eating becomes a chore. We get stress-caused conditions like IBS and heart attacks. The older we get, everything we enjoy is taken away from us little by little, and the stress builds, the burdens becomes more and heavier, until death becomes a relief.

We live in a world full of cruelty, war, murder, evil, greed, and inhumanity. A world full of insects that lay eggs in children's eyes, parasites that turn their hosts into zombies, a world that is a tiny blue speck in an unimaginably vast, uncaring void, our only neighbors enormous balls of nuclear fire...

...and yet people look at me funny when I espouse the belief that there not only is a Hell, but we are in it right now.

What's more, they have the unmitigated gall to claim God is benevolent and omnipotent. If this is benevolence, I'd hate to see what malevolence looked like.

Also, if this is Hell, maybe the good die young because they've earned their way into Heaven?

But that would require me to believe there was such a place as Heaven.
