God is evil
Apr. 5th, 2019 04:00 am1. The Bible is a work of fiction.
2. If God is all powerful, and evil exists, and if God *does* exist, then the fact evil exists proves God is evil. An omnipotent being tolerating evil when it could cause evil to cease to exist? That's evil. God is evil. There's no way to talk yourself out of that one. It's simple fact.
3. The way God is portrayed in the Bible, it's pretty obvious that he's pure fucking evil, which proves my previous point. (Evidence: God committing multiple genocides, God siding on certain wars, God specifically killing children, and God torturing his children eternally. A parent that tortures their children with literal gitmo-or-worse torture is abusive and evil, full stop. Also, the whole thing of excessively punishing children for misbehavior and then “forgiving” them but still punishing them - the Adam and Eve story - is a classic abuser tactic. Oh and every time God punishes people, he does the classic abuser tactic of “now look what you made me do.”)
Of course, God doesn't exist; but if It did, It would be evil.
What we have is a whole series of religions with mythologies that normalize abusive behavior.
