Setian Luciferian Statements
1. Sutekh represents the quest for xeper (kef-fer), for becoming a Demon God at death through the cultivation of the mind and spirit, and through passing on knowledge and wisdom to those around you before you die. For it was the cultivation of intelligence, cleverness, and building communities that got us here to being the dominant multi-cellular species on the planet. Further cultivation of the mind, spirit, and body will lead to further use of the Burning Onyx, and we shall become Demon Gods.
2. Sutekh represents the legacies of those who came before us, and their continued existence in Demon or Demon God form, so we may still speak with and learn from those who trod the path before us. For we are all Demons at heart, with souls of Hellfire, and all matter and energy in the universe is at least partly Hellfire, making us all One, as well as being Many.
3. Sutekh represents the knowledge that the quest for xeper is not easy; it is a difficult, life-long path requiring much effort. It is easy to become disheartened when the path is not going well, or tired even when it is. Take a break now and then, and have patience with the process.
4. Sutekh represents working with Demon Gods, not worshiping them, for we are Demon Gods in the making. We all have the capability to become a Demon God through the process of xeper. Worship of any entity other than yourself is counterproductive to the xeper process, as it requires setting aside your dignity, and distracts you from the path. The Demon Gods are mighty forces; they neither want nor need your worship. Your worship means as much to them as would the adoration of ants to a brontosaurus. They walk among us only to serve as tools on our path of xeper, and only because it serves their own needs as well; the more demons of flesh become Demon Gods, the better for the side of Light against the day the darkness of Ahriman returns.
5. Lucifer represents neither indulgence nor abstinence, but moderation. Over-indulgence has at least as many negative consequences, after all, as abstinence, and neither is very fun. The most fun can be had in moderation.
6. Lucifer represents both the vitality of mortal existence and the search for something beyond this mortal coil. Living in just the mortal world can lead one to feel their life was meaningless, where living solely for the spirit or mind does more harm to the spirit and mind than good, because mind, body, and spirit are too far linked to ignore any of them. Ignore any one, and it harms all three.
7. Lucifer represents the search for undefiled wisdom, not hypocritical self-deceit. This search is never easy, and anyone who says otherwise is either naïve or a liar. For not all truths are made equal; needs of the seeker vary from person to person, and can even vary for the same person over time. An incomplete truth is better than nothing, if the seeker is not yet ready for the whole truth. The xeper path is intensely personal, and no one can speak for anyone's path but their own.
8. Lucifer represents basic human kindness and compassion to others until such time as they prove themselves unworthy of it. If someone rejects your kindness, then ignore them and leave them be if they will let you. If they attempt to hurt or kill you or others, defend with equal or greater force. For it is through kindness and compassion that we build bridges to others, and build up communities; kindness, compassion, and cooperation is how humans became the dominant species on the planet. But if someone attacks us or another, we need not tolerate it. If someone pesters, abuses, stalks, or disrespects us, we can take steps to stop it.
9. Lucifer represents being judicious with both hatred and love. Loving everyone is impossible and destroys the meaning of love. The same holds true of hatred. Hatred is not the opposite of love; apathy is the opposite of love. Hatred and love are opposite sides of the same thing. For to truly hate someone takes as much energy and concern as it does to truly love someone, which is why the hottest hatreds often burn for those we once loved. And whereas love lifts you up and heals your spirit, hatred pulls you down and poisons your spirit. Therefore hatred should be reserved for those who truly deserve it. Be angry at as many others as you want, but be at least as careful with your hatred as you are with your love, if not more so.
10. Lucifer represents strength in the face of danger, instead of passivity. You are a Demon in the flesh; the most an opponent can do to you against your will is kill you or torture you – you can only be defeated by surrendering. Use whatever means you have to defend yourself and others.
11. Lucifer represents responsibility to the responsible, not concern for irresponsible psychic vampires. If someone is a drain on your energy, let them know. Psychic vampires can control and suppress their abilities if made aware of them. If a psychic vampire refuses to believe you, or shows that they are using their abilities against others on purpose, then cut off all contact with them. If they continue to bother you, defend yourself. If they continue to bother loved ones, defend those loved ones.
12. Lucifer represents humankind as being little different from other animals, sometimes better and other times worse. It is the inherent ability of all forms of life to evolve and use the power of the Burning Onyx to burn away more Void from their spirits, becoming Demons in the flesh. Human beings are not inherently more worthy of life than other animals just because we were the first to achieve this level of sentience. Remember the vision Hekate and Na'amah had: that we Demons in the flesh can herald either a glorious era of light and goodness, or kill ourselves (and possibly our planet) off, or herald an era of utter darkness and evil. (See also statement number 21.)
13. Lucifer represents all the so-called “sins” of the minions of Yahweh Silver Tongue, for these “sins” are perfectly natural and fine in moderation. It is merely another tactic of the Demon of Ignorance to control others. By declaring perfectly natural things to be “sins,” he shames others into following his rule. But remember: moderation! For over-indulgence can be just as much a sign of mental slavery as abstinence.
14. Lucifer and his allies have regrettably been twisted around into scapegoats by the minions of Yahweh Silver Tongue, which has only aided his rise to power. We must right this wrong, end Yahweh's reign, for he is an unwitting ally of Ahriman, as are all his minions. If we do not rid the world of Yahweh's influence by the time Ahriman returns, we may all be doomed.
15. Lucifer represents the unconstrained glory of creativity which gives us a great many options for leaving our legacy behind. Through art, writing, television, movies, and many other manifestations of creativity can we pass on knowledge, wisdom, and insights to our successors. We must thus respect these manifestations and keep all forms of art and writing safe from harm, even if we disagree powerfully with what is said in them. It is an affront to the entire cause of enlightenment and wisdom to damage or destroy books or other media on purpose, and strikes a blow against Lucifer and his allies. Those who would burn even a single book, or destroy a single piece of art, assist Yahweh Silver Tongue whether they know it or not.
16. Lucifer represents self reflection and the quest to be aware of all your thoughts, beliefs, ideas, and behaviors, so that they may better serve your Will and your path to xeper. The defining characteristic of sophonts is their ability to be aware of their place in the universe and how their thoughts, words, and deeds affect themselves and others, yet most human beings do not practice this very often, if at all. It is necessary, however, because otherwise your thoughts, words, and deeds might contradict your Will; they might even serve Yahweh Silver Tongue more than the cause of your xeper.
17. Lucifer represents the awareness that even everyday language can twist and mangle the truth, or cause hurtful and unintended misunderstandings, and so one must strive to be careful with one's words at all times, for words are powerful magick tools; used wrongly, they become powerful weapons. Sticks and stones break bones, but words are even more hurtful. Physical wounds usually heal with time, whereas mental and spiritual wounds from words can get worse with time, and often do. Hurtful words are like cancer, eating the mind and spirit from the inside out if not treated.
Also, there are specters that haunt English and other languages, filling it with unintended connotations, outdated and erroneous ideas, inaccuracies, and other “spooks.” Read more about E-Prime, and also read “Quantum Psychology” by Robert Anton Wilson. Re-read it as many times as you need to, you will gain new insights every time you read it.
18. Lucifer represents the quest to listen to the better Demons of your nature, and the knowledge that one cannot always do so. We are all filled with the emotional baggage of our lifetimes. We are all filled with the intellectual garbage that both the well-meaning but incorrect and the malicious forces of Yahweh Silver Tongue have drowned us in. This is why we seek to identify and remove the baggage and garbage weighing us down; but it is a difficult task, and there will be missteps along the way. Try your hardest, but do not beat yourself up if you misstep.
19. Lucifer represents the capacity of humanity for reason, and the quest to use it wisely. Most humans are not rational beings, they are rationalizing beings. Setian Luciferians strive to be rational, not rationalizing.
20. Lucifer represents neither the pure selflessness of the Right-Hand Path nor the pure selfishness of the Left-Hand Path, but instead represents a third path, the Two-Hand Path. Right-Hand Path and Left-Hand Path are two ends of a spectrum. As such, they represent two pure, symbolic states. Nobody is purely Right-Hand Path or purely Left-Hand Path, it is impossible. For one, many Right-Hand Path claimants are actually very selfish and power hungry, and many Left-Hand Path claimants are selfless slaves to their master. But even those of either path who are closer to being correct, miss important points. The Right-Hand Path has become so corrupted by Yahweh and his allies on Ahriman's side that at this point, the world would be better off with atheists in many respects. And those among the Left-Hand Path tend to get so caught up in opposing the corruption of the Right-Hand Path that they often become just as bad. Thus, the only remaining option is the Two-Hand Path, a combining of the best elements of the Right-Hand and Left-Hand Paths, and a casting out of the bad parts. All the freedom of the Left-Hand Path, tempered by the basic respect for humanity in general, responsibility in helping out when permitted until and unless attacked or abused, and giving people a chance. All the possibilities of helping others that the Right-Hand Path represents, tempered by the caution and reason of the Left-Hand Path. The two hands must work together, for a single hand can only make a fist. It takes two hands working together to build a house.
21. Lucifer represents awareness of the fact that all mortal life feeds on death to continue, but gets nothing good out of needless suffering. It is the unfortunate truth of life on the mortal coil, and therefore there is no sense getting overly attached to the beings that will be your food. That does not mean you should mistreat them, either; mistreatment and abuse has physical effects on all mortal beings, effects that poison their flesh so they might strike a blow against those who abused them by ingesting that poison.
