Gah. Memorial Day. Bah humbug. Yes, I'm happy that we're moderately free in this country and yes I'm thankful for those who gave their life defending that freedom,¹ but seriously I hate Memorial Day. It's nothing personal against Memorial Day nor against who or what it represents. I just hate most holidays. Walpurgisnacht/Samhain/Halloween is one of the only three holidays I actually like, along with Yule/Xmas and Ostara/Easter. I only like Ostara because of chocolate and candy and because my family treated it like a miniature Xmas - I could count on getting a new CD on Easter. And Samhain is about candy and dressing up weird. It's the one day of the year where it's acceptable for Normies to behave weirdly. And Yule is gifts. Beyond that, all other holidays are pointless and stupid. Granted, I liked them as a kid because most of them were an excuse for getting out of school. But nowadays... bah humbug.
