New holiday: Satanasmas!
Dec. 22nd, 2011 04:39 pmWith my power as a Pope of the Discordian un-faith, I - Bishop Sanctimonious the Hypocritical - do declare Friday, December 23rd to be Satanasmas! (Say-tawn-aas-maas) EDIT: Satanasmas now runs from the 23rd to the 26th.
Satanasmas...
1. Is a day we celebrate by working to take the Christ out of Christmas, to recognize and celebrate the pagan origins of all the usurper holidays that claim the religions they stole it from are attacking "their" holiday. To the usurpers: long after your pathetic lie of a religion has withered and died, ours will remain triumphant!
2. It is a day we celebrate the power of Mother Nature and Father Satan. We recognize the terrible power of winter, especially, and celebrate our ability as humans to work together to give winter the double finger and the blesséd "Nyah nyah!"
3. It is a time to celebrate the Seven Blessed Virtues of lust, gluttony, envy, sloth, wrath, greed, and pride.
4. It is when we take the time to review how well (or how poorly) we've done in the last year in regard to the nine Satanic Sins, the nine Satanic statements, and the Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth, and how we might improve in the coming year.
5. It is a day we are grateful for our strengths, and for awareness of our weaknesses. We are grateful for our loved ones and friends. We celebrate and reaffirm our strengths, our power, and our interpersonal relationships.
6. It is a day we thank our enemies, who have helped us at least as much as our friends!
Ave Satanas!
If you can think of more things Satanasmas could/should represent, let me know.
