Useless cops
Aug. 5th, 2016 09:40 pmThe cops here in Portland, Oregon are completely fucking useless, at least the ones in our neighborhood are. There's meth addicts that have moved into the area and live right out in the open - you can tell because they're the ones sleeping on a hill covered in lava rocks (you have to be high as fuck to sleep on lava rocks. I can't even walk on lava rocks with good shoes on!), harassing people at the bus stops, pulling knives on people, and yet whenever one of us tell the cops about it, they're like "What do you want us to do about it?" There's a dude who has parked his trailer in the Albertson's parking lot and is not only dealing meth out of his trailer, within view of the 7-11 where all the cops hang out to eat donuts and snort cocaine from hookers' asses, he's actually got a couch and fluffy chairs set up in the parking lot for his customers, and the cops don't fucking care. When criminals are that fucking bold, you know they have no fear of the cops. Which means the cops aren't doing their fucking jobs. Hell, for all I know, the cops are in on the drug deals and taking cuts, or these bold as brass criminals are the cops' dealers.
This whole area is drowning in cops, practically, but all they ever seem to do is hang out at the 7-11 or go speeding because they can. Every once in a while, a whole slew of cop cars will hang around one particular area, their lights on, but all the cops seem to do at these times is stand around looking bored. I've never once seen one actually doing his or her job, in all the years I've lived in the area.
We actually had a neighbor here who was a violent meth addict, and when he wasn't vaccuuming his apartment at all hours trying to get rid of the cockroaches in his imagination, he was hitting old ladies and raping minors, but did he ever get arrested? No. Did he ever get evicted? Of course not. We had to tolerate his shit for years until he finally fucking did the world a favor and killed himself, or died of a meth overdose, we're not sure. But he won't be missed. And judging by his behavior when he was collecting his dad's things, the meth addict neighbor's own son didn't care he'd died. It was nothing more than an inconvenience to him.
So yeah, fucking useless cops. Probably all corrupt. They certainly don't ever do anything constructive. People speed through here frequently, or do illegal U turns, or other weird illegal shit, and do the cops ever do anything about it? Not that I've ever seen. Hell, at least half the time it's the cops doing illegal shit just because they can. At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if I caught one doing figure 8's in the middle of the road with his squad car.
And calling the police station is equally useless. They rarely take us seriously, and it takes so long for them to show up when they deign to come at all that it's usually long over with by the time they do, when I'm fairly sure they're either at the 7-11, cruising around for shits and giggles a block away, or meeting with their dealer when we call, so instead of being here in two or three minutes, they sit for 15 minutes with their thumbs up their asses and then saunter at their ease to the squad car, cruising at walking speed all the way over, then stand around looking stupid for 20 minutes before sauntering off again.
And trust me, I'm not exaggerating. If the cops around here walked any slower, a man with no legs and no mobility device could drag himself along the ground by his arms faster than they walk.
What's more, the idiots have - on more than one occasion - knocked on our window and talked at us through the window, at times like 11 PM, instead of using the damn doorbell like a civilized human being. The height of stupidity to do that! In a high crime area like this, it is NOT a smart idea to knock on someone's window at night asking to be let in, especially when people have literally tried to break in through the window at night while we were home and the lights were on. Those idiot cops are lucky we're not gun owners, they might've gotten shot. And it wouldn't have been our fault, either, since we couldn't see them or their uniforms with them standing in the dark, we didn't know who the fuck they were until they said who they were, and they didn't even tell us that much until we demanded to know who they were. That's a level of stupidity that surprises me, even coming from cops. It's like they had all the survival instinct of the stereotypical lemmings.
