Don't trust the DNC. They're in on the plan by the one-percenters to turn this country into an open fascism. (It's been a secret fascism for decades, of course; the signs were all there if you look for them, as I've pointed out numerous times.) Why else throw out Bernie votes in favor of a candidate who was so corrupt that she couldn't win people over despite the other candidate being the literal embodiment of evil? They planned this. And looking back on Hillary Clinton's campaign, I definetely feel she half-assed it. And she rolled over far too easily. She should have held out at least three or four days before throwing in the towel. I think that makes it obvious that Hillary Clinton was in on it as well. Hell, I knew from the beginning she was responsible for Trump running in the first place. He loses all this money, the Clinton Foundation gives him loads of money, and right after that he starts running? Highly suspicious timing. I originally thought it was because she wanted to run against someone who had no chance of winning. But honestly, now that I think about it, putting a neo-Nazi in a position to potentially win the Presidency sounds too foolish for someone as clever as Hillary Clinton unless she really wanted him to win instead.

Think about it, about the fact that she's got decades of political experience, and yet she made huge mistakes like calling all Trump supporters "deplorables." Which, despite being true, is not a politik thing to say. Not something a career politician would have done unless she was secretly working to get Trump elected. Which she's corrupt enough that I have no hesitation believing she could and would do if it served her greed. It might even serve her lust for power. Trump becomes the figurehead, and Clinton joins the group that *actually* runs the country, which takes her out of the spotlight but gives her far more power than a President could have.

I tell you, the one-percenters could not have chosen a more perfect puppet than Trump. Utterly incompetent, easily swayed by people he trusts, all over the place philosophically, and a reality TV star. Who better to install as a puppet President than someone nobody will take seriously until it's too late? I have to give them props for being clever evil bastards.

I've been saying for years that the US was a secret fascism trying to pretend it was a democracy. I should have realized they'd try to bring the fascism out into the open, but I thought they were clever enough to prefer the pretend democracy, since overtly fascist nations never stay that way for long. The signs kept getting more and more overt, I should have seen it.

Honestly, sometimes I hate being right. Even if I was only technically half right.

The Republicans voted to repeal Obamacare. They're also cutting Social Security. It's only a matter of time before they repeal social security entirely and get rid of HUD. Which means I am officially FUCKED, along with millions of other people.

I wish I'd known this was going to happen years ago, I would've bought a tiny house and hoarded my money as gold in preparation to flee. Now I don't know what I'm going to do. I don't want to leave the only place I've ever had real friends, but this is just the start. If anyone's going to end up in Trump's gas chambers, it's going to be people like me.

I feel bad now for ever thinking those doomsday preppers were nuts. With the specter of neo-Nazis in the government of the US, I wish I'd had the money and foresight to be able to be holed up in a bunker somewhere that the secret police won't be able to get to me, with enough stored food and gardens to last me indefinetely.

Copied from here on FB but it's not written by Sorcha, she lifted it from somewhere else.

People have been saying that, when dealing with Trump (and the GOP), we have to maintain our civility, our dignity, our sense of discourse. And it occurs to me that there's something they don't know about the situation that's key.

Trump is a narcissist. (Is there anyone other than a Trump supporter that doesn't know this by now?) But what a lot of these let's-stay-civil types don't know is how narcissists work. (Chances are they've never had to deal with one up close and personal before.)

Narcissists don't see anyone else as real. We're not important. What's important to them is winning. There is no honor, no civility, nothing; it's all about them. This is why there's all the lying that we've already seen, much of which takes the "who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes" form of gaslighting. ("No, I didn't make fun of a disabled reporter," for example.) And when caught in one lie, they'll lie again, frequently within seconds of the first lie. I've experienced this personally and you can watch the orange shitgibbon do the same thing.

More under the cut )

My own additional comment: Trump is literally a neo-Nazi fascist. He's literally hiring neo-Nazis, which makes him one, and makes anyone who supports him one as well. I am genuinely terrified of a second Holocaust and a WWIII. People like him and Pence and everyone else working for them want to kill anyone who isn't their idea of normal. The only rational response to an attitude like that is being prepared to kill them in self defense and the defense of others. Or put more succinctly: FUCK CIVILITY, BASH THE FASH!

I made some posts on Tumblr and some comments on FaceBook to the effect of "Joe Biden got a Presidential Medal of Freedom? What the fuck FOR???" And someone on FB made a comment: "Really? So working on climate change and nuclear proliferation was doing squat? I'm not saying I agree with the award, but trying to say that Obama hasn't done anything in regards to global peace and diplomacy is just not true."

My response bears repeating here:

Working on climate change and nuclear proliferation when you're the bloody vice president is the base level of what you should be doing. Giving him an award for that is like patting men on the back for treating women like equal human beings. If he did those things when it wasn't literally his job, just volunteering his time, then maybe the medal *might* be something he deserves, but such is not the case. Rewarding someone with a medal for doing their fucking job is like those idiotic participation medals they used to give kids. "Congratulations! You put in the bare minimum of effort! Huzzah!" It cheapens the medal, makes the medal worth far less than it should.

As to Obama's peace prize, keep in mind the time he got that award. He'd barely been in office for any time at all when he got that award; he hadn't had much of a career before then, and hadn't any time to do anything to get the medal. Even most of his supporters were like "Huh???" I know, I was a full supporter of his at the time, before I started noticing (later) he was doing a lot of the same shit as all other Presidents. It's bad enough a white President bombing brown children in foreign countries for oil and ignoring police violence against innocent black people in this country, but a black President doing the same thing was just infuriating. The irony of someone like that getting a Nobel peace prize should not be lost on even you.

Mind you, I'd still prefer 8 more years of Obama/Biden to Trump/Pence. Though that's not difficult. I'd rather have a decade of Bush/Cheney than a month of Trump/Pence.
