Something that needs to be taught in schools, in TV PSAs, on billboards, etc., is that touching a person's wheelchair without their consent is, according to the law, an act of assault. You can go to PRISON for touching someone's wheelchair without their consent! And the sad fact of the matter is, while this is true, it isn't enforced nearly as much as it should be!

My thoughts on the infamous "slap" at the Oscars where Will Smith supposedly assaulted Chris Rock: The whole thing was staged. Security did nothing to try to slow Smith down or stop him, when decades ago they had to restrain John Wayne from the stage when he was trying to assault the Native American woman standing in for DeNiro. Smith and Rock were clearly paid to create a fake scene that would have everyone talking, as a distraction from who knows how much fascist bullshit going on. Like how a sitting United States Senator, in an interview today, said plainly that states should be able to ban interracial marriage. Or climate change. Or scores of other things. The US is not a democracy, it is a crypto-fascist oligarchy owned and run by billionaires.

Smith also never made any actual contact, and the sound everyone heard upon the "contact" was his foot on the stage. Don't buy the hype. Ignore the bullshit perpetrated by those wealthy assholes and pay attention to the bullshit perpetrated by the wealthy assholes who are running our country.

About this Russia/Ukraine thing: Both Russia and Ukraine are in the wrong, in this particular conflict. Ukraine kept goading Russia for years, with backing from NATO, and Russia finally got fed up and started invading. It's the political equivalent of a short man harassing a much larger man with swears and challenges, and when the bigger man finally retaliates, the smaller man goes "Woah woah woah, I'm just a little guy!" Both governments are run by belligerent dickheads, neither is in the right. But Ukraine's government is playing the helpless victim who Has Done No Wrong and it's bullshit but people keep believing it because they're too lazy to look into it any deeper than what the propaganda machine tells them to think.
