Kvetching time!
Jun. 5th, 2011 11:09 pmYes, humanoids and colonies of fungi, I am alive. I haven't felt much like updating lately. But here I am now.
Tomorrow, my apartment is being inspected. Fucking hell. I don't remember that being in the contract. But what can I do about it? Nothing. Bastards have never fixed anything I needed fixing, and yet they get to come in here and tell me if *I* am up to snuff.
Seriously. The first week here, the towel rack fell off the wall. I kept telling them to fix it but nobody ever came around. The little filtery thingies in both sink faucets came out, and nobody ever came around to fix it. I've managed without; I just can't drink hot water from the tap. Oh, and some of the outlets I couldn't use because anything plugged into them would just fall out. But could I get someone over to do something about it? Of course not. Oh yeah, and also there's an outdoors lamp that's property of the building owners which is necessary so people like me don't get their asses run over at night walking from my apartment to the sidewalk, which has been out since I moved in; it's a danger leaving it like that! On more than one occasion I've nearly been run over, but nobody ever does anything about it. So I've long since given up trying to get those bastards to do their jobs.
And yet, despite this history of THEIR uselessness, THEY get to come into my apartment and decide if I'm an adequate tenant. I swear, after I've been cleaning this place like crazy the past many days, if they say even one negative word about anything, I am going to politely regale them with their own inadequacies.
Still, I think they'll be hard pressed to find anything to bitch about. Only thing I can think of is the towel bar, and that's THEIR fault. If they bitch about it, I will TELL them it's their fault.
Still have a few dishes to do, and putting some things away. So I'm almost done.
Despite my annoyance and anger, panic and so on, I'm also kinda glad sorta. This place was a dump. It's much nicer, now. I aim to keep it nice. I've found a lot can be done in five-minute chunks with lots of breaks. And I *do* need lots of breaks. Even the simplest cleaning tasks wear me out quickly. Especially in this heat.
I fully intend to pass this inspection.
