Vigilantes suck

I hate vigilantes so much. They're like cops, only worse; they have no experience, they don't know what the fuck they're doing, they don't know the justice system at all, they're beholden to nobody, they're driven by emotions rather than logic, they don't give a shit about evidence, they deliberately goad people into doing things they might not have done otherwise, more often than not they fuck up cases that might've been solid, and they have a long history of being catastrophically wrong and ruining the lives of innocent people or murdering innocent people just because they thought they knew law enforcement better than people who do it for a living.

I think there should be a law that says vigilante citizen arrests are invalid, and any "crime" their victims supposedly committed should be tossed out automatically. And/or the vigilantes should be arrested and given at least a year in prison for their idiocy. This bullshit needs to stop, and stop NOW. I don't give a shit who they're targeting, or how morally superior they think they are, becoming a vigilante automatically makes you an idiotic shithead criminal no better than the people you're targeting, and automatically makes you deserve prison time.

And as much as I like superhero stuff, it's very annoying that superhero stuff glorifies vigilantes. I think if I was going to do a comic, I'd do one where the superhero was arrested, and he escapes because he feels he's above the law (all vigilantes do), and constantly gets in the way of law enforcement, fucks up cases getting villains off scott free, hurts people by accident while trying to "help," and pisses off the cops enough that they shoot at him on sight. Idiot keeps thinking he's doing good, can't understand why the cops and judges and so on can't see it, and in the end he dies thinking himself a hero and is remembered as a villain. Much more realistic.
