My roommate is very computer illiterate. She doesn't even know how to use flash drives. I helped her, but it came up with this "import" thing. Of course I tell her to ignore it, because I've never seen it before in my life and thus I don't even know what import is or does, and of course she ignores me and uses it anyway. For all I know, it's a malicious program downloading itself onto her flash drive. But does she trust the person who actually knows what they're doing with computers? Of course not.

Damn, given the sounds I hear from over there so often, virus alerts and so on, my poor desktop computer probably has more viruses than the CDC labs.

I have identified a feeling very similar to my "does not compute!" feeling. It is the feeling I get when someone thinks the thought behind my words is completely different than it is, and I don't know how to correct them.

An example:

My roommate just showed me a picture of a trip she took to Germany once, and pointed out the prices as being cheap. The listed price was 1.99. I said, "Isn't that in Euros, though?" She responded that yes, it is, "but you don't go around converting every price to American dollars, you get it exchanged and lose $20 once and then you don't think about it." And I just walked away because she didn't get the right thought behind the words and I haven't a clue how to correct her because I can't put it into words. I just know that I was aware of converting money at banks and then not thinking about the prices, so that wasn't it at all.

Another way of putting the feeling: When you ask a question with a specific reason behind it and you get an answer that technically answers the question's words, but doesn't answer the spirit of the question, and thus is not the answer you were looking for.

Gods, are there actually people who genuinely think Hillary Clinton has any intention of delivering on any of her campaign promises? People who don’t realize she stole those policies and talking points from Bernie Sanders solely to get votes? Yeesh. That’s kind of pathetic. I don’t know whether to pity them for their naivete or envy them for it.

Trump and Clinton are basically total opposites. Neither one of them is normal for politicians. Most politicians tell some truths, do intend to keep some of the promises made to the people. But Trump, for all he lies like breathing, is honest about his policies. Whereas Clinton, she doesn’t intend to keep any of the promises she made to the people. Her only concern is doing what her financial backers want her to do.

So for completely different reasons, both are extremely harmful to the country.

I get so fucking PISSED at people who expect me to be their own personal Google, and try to make me look like the asshole for "not backing up [my] statements with sources." Listen, asshats: I have chronic depression. It drains my energy so hard that some days I feel the powerful need to sleep again an hour after waking up fresh faced and bright eyed. So no, I am not going to hunt through months of Tumblr posts or FB posts to find the links that support my statements. I'm not going to hunt through Google - a corporation known to scrub news items from its searches if paid enough money to do so - for you. It's fucking exhausting to me, and half the time I'm already fucking exhausted. If you're able bodied, unlike me, you can bloody well do your own damn Googling. And if not wanting to do your work for you makes me an asshole, well pucker up and eat my ass.
