A friend showed me images of the queen of England serving in the military, and I'm like "So what? Her being in the military once is supposedly a good thing?"
I mean yeah, if war is going to be a thing, the people who wage war should be in the thick of it risking their lives alongside everyone else. But I don't view serving in the military as anything to be respected for, in general. No I will not thank you for your "service" for being in the military; you're either a mass murderer or enabling mass murderers. There is nothing at all noble or respectable about being in the military. ASAB (All Soldiers Are Bastards) and AVAB (All Veterans Are Bastards).
