Discovered today that Biketown is now owned by Lyft, and so I could try one of their ebikes by going through the Lyft app. It turned out to be much cheaper and faster than the escooters, as well as easier and safer. (I pretty much only ever take the escooters when I don't want to walk between bus stops or between a bus stop and home.) I was thinking about getting an ebike anyway, and this has convinced me I would enjoy having one, and would get a lot of use out of it.
On that note, I'm thinking also of combining that with something else I've been wanting to do for like ten years. Specifically, tomorrow or the day after, I want to take a Biketown ebike up to the trailhead at Lower Macleay Park so I can finally see that Witches' Castle thing and go into Forest Park. I might have to take a bus part of the way to get to a Biketown bike, but it'd be better than taking buses the whole way there. Which day I do it depends entirely on how late I get back from the grocery store tomorrow, how I feel after getting back, and how soon I recover from how I feel. Well, technically later today but whatever. My betting is it'll have to be Thursday. Also somewhat dependant on how hot it gets, but with some sunscreen and the breeze from being on an ebike, I should be fine unless it's like Arizona type heat.
