Just a note for LiveJournal users: If I don't reply to you, it's because I don't check my gmail account or my LJ notifications very often. Like, I can't remember how long ago before today I even thought about logging into LJ to check for comments from people who hadn't also ported over to DreamWidth. And I'm fairly sure it's been over a year since I checked my gmail account. Other than occasionally screaming into the void on DW and it automatically copying over to LJ, I'm usually on Facebook these days. Yeah, I know, Facebook? But eh. (Shrugs)

Honestly, more often than not, I forget LiveJournal even still exists.

After having gotten on LiveJournal and it again, for the thousandth damned time, forgetting that I hate its fucking new layout (honestly, no matter how many times I switch back to the old layout, that never fucking STICKS), I got frustrated and sent them this feedback:

"There is literally nothing at all good about your new layout. It is horrible, it sucks, it makes me want to never use LJ again. Please change it back to how it was, because everything about the new layout makes me want to vomit."

Their reply:

"Thank you for your inquiry. You can switch back to the old version by following the instructions below.

When viewing any system page that shows the standard blue header banner (such as the home page), click on the "?" speech bubble icon to the right of the Post New Entry link at the right side of the blue header banner.

A dialog box will appear with information about the redesign -- at the bottom of that dialog, there is a 'Switch back to old version' link you can use to return to the previous version. An image of this dialog box can be seen at http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/markf/1314111/44151/44151_original.jpg."

Me again:

"I am aware of that. However, there's something in your code so that every time I turn off my computer and turn it on again and get back on LJ, it's back to the new BS layout and I have to select the old one all over again. If something triggers me to vomit, I want to get rid of it permanently, so I don't have to fight my gorge every damned time I log on to the Internet. Something in your code is messed up that makes the site forget that I would sooner eat baby shite than look at your new layout.

I can guarantee you that the only people who like your new layout are from Stepford, and they'd still be happy if you doused them in gasoline and lit them on fire."

We shall see where it goes from here.

Okay, what the hell? Is it just this computer I'm on (at the library), or did Livejournal get rid of its Writer's Block completely? I mean yeah, I mocked just about every question they came up with, but it gave me an excuse to post. I'll be sad if it's gone for good.

EDIT: Okay, it's just this computer, apparently.

I've gotten used to the list of answers to the LJ Writer's Blocks having tons of posts in Cyrillic, but for the first time ever, today, I saw one in Arabic writing! Neat!

Look! Just LOOK at this shit-licking travesty on the LJ Spotlight: http://disneytortillas.livejournal.com/ - the community for all your Disney and tortillas needs!

WHAT. THE. FUCK!?!?!

I don't know who's the bigger shit-for-brains:

1. The braindead cunt-muncher who thought of the place to start with.
2. The turd burglar who submitted it to LJ Spotlight.
3. The manscaping artist who approved it for the Spotlight.

THIS IS THE SHIT THEY SPOTLIGHT? I am tempted to join just so I can vomit all over their splash page.

Just changed my Twitter crossposting settings, since I don't tweet much. Here are the changes:

1. No more LJ cut. This way you don't have to click on the cut just to find there's only 1 or two tweets in there. If I do have a day where I tweet a lot (it happens), I will put it under a cut manually (so bear with me if it takes me some time).

2. Livejournal is now doing my tweets, at noon. I'm assured this will NOT crosspost back to Twitter or Facebook, ending the "endless loop" problem.

3. Dreamwidth will still be getting my tweets from Twittinesis, but it no longer crossposts by default. This works out well because the tweet posts were the only ones I needed to crosspost by default, since I rarely post via text. In future, if I post by text, I will send the post to both accounts. But it also means the tweet posts will be different, and posted at different times (LJ does theirs at noon, Twittinesis does theirs at like 3 or 4 AM.)

I now have Facebook and Twitter crossposting from LiveJournal enabled. Since I crosspost from Dreamwidth, that means there will be a Dreamdwidth version of most posts if you want to comment without worrying about my comments going to my Facebook and Twitter. But my basic reasoning for doing it was, "Why not? My Facebook and Twitter don't get much action."

I can be found on Facebook right here. And on Twitter at @alex-antonin.

Heh. Just had a funny thought: I post here on Dreamwidth, it crossposts to LiveJournal, which crossposts to Twitter which gets shipped by Twittinesis to LiveJournal; the tweet shipment post gets crossposted to Facebook and Twitter, which gets shipped by Twittinesis... and so on. :-D
