Monotheism: the rise of modeltheism.

I love the scifi TV show “Caprica.” I really wish it had gotten as popular as Harry Potter, so I could've witnessed all the shit fits as Xians and others freaked out over the terrorists being monotheists. But man, when you think about it, in a society full of polytheists, the terrorists would HAVE to be monotheists. Only monotheists have the mindset capable of religious terrorism.

Not all monotheists are terrorists, of course, but when's the last time a Hindu blew up a building full of innocent people, or purposefully spread a deadly disease to others, just because they weren't Hindus? That's right, it has NEVER happened.

And before you go off saying “Ah, but the Romans killed Jews and Christians for religious reasons!” Well, yes and no. The Roman Empire had a policy where they didn't care what religion its citizens believed in, so long as they worshiped the Genius Spirit of the Emperor. In a time when religion and politics were not separate, this seemingly religious matter was really more of a political one. It was viewed as unpatriotic, traitorous even, to not worship the emperor's Genius.

Either way, it doesn't count as religious terrorism. I'd give some kind of an argument to support that, but I can't think of one offhand. At least not one that I agree with enough to say.

Fairness

Imagine a game where most people have to work very hard for years to make much progress in the game. Some barely manage to keep their characters alive despite years of extremely hard work. (And in this game, once you die, you can never play it again.) And some players can't even feed themselves or their children.

Now imagine that a very small percentage of people in the game find, upon first logging in, that the game is extremely easy for them, and don't have to do much more than log in and stare at the screen to get fabulously wealthy and powerful. And instead of being generous with their amazing luck and helping their fellow players to not suffer so much, they put forth a lot of effort to get even more wealthy. Like ancient stories of dragons, all they do is sit on their gold, or use it to get more. They know that the money is meaningless, ultimately, if only because it's only good within the game.

A game that unfair would not be tolerated, if it were a video game. So why, when we are playing it for real, are we tolerating it?

Oh, the Lovecraftian horror!

Coming across some peoples' reality tunnels is, to me, like looking at something weird as I pass by it on the bus. Coming into contact with certain other peoples' reality tunnels is, to me, like crashing into a car that has suddenly stopped in front of me. It leaves me dazed, confused, and even weeks later I can't fully process it.

Some peoples' reality tunnels make me laugh, either from the blessed weirdness or from sheer absurdity. Other people, however... a glimpse of their reality tunnel is, to me, like a glimpse into a Lovecraftian horror dimension.

I glimpsed such a Lovecraftian reality tunnel today. Well, it felt more like Discordianism meets Lovecraftian horror dimension. Like if the Marx Brothers did Lovecraft in a dadaist way. But with a Fox News kind of flavor mixed in.

The sheer Wrongness of it made me understand the desire of some people, upon coming across reality tunnels that disturb them, to Kill It With Fire. I don't think such a fucked up reality tunnel should be allowed.

If reality tunnels were drug trips, this person was on some really fucked up shit. I want to know what it was just so I can avoid it like the plague.

Just knowing it exists makes me want to leave the planet.

(No, I will not link to it. There are some things so horrible, even the dark is afraid of them.)

Alcohol

I can't stand alcohol. It smells like raw human sewage and tastes the way I'd imagine raw human sewage to taste. And I can't even get drunk or even tipsy; the slightest bit of alcohol and I just get sick.

I've even tried Mike's Hard Lemonade. Still smells like sewage, albeit diluted sewage. Still made me ill. Hell, made me ill faster than normal alcohol.

Also, why would anyone want to get drunk? I live with headaches every 2 or 3 days no matter what I do, and they become migraines if I don't treat them quickly. Why anyone would want to risk a migraine-like headache just to act like a horny baboon for a few hours... I don't get it.

Not to mention I hate drunk people. I have a very low tolerance for mundanes to begin with; add alcohol and they become intolerable.

Then there's non-alcoholic beers, which make even less sense. It's absurd enough that you're drinking something that smells like roadkill mixed with rotten lettuce, but to drink it when there's no alcohol? Ugh.

I made the mistake, once, of buying a kombucha. For those of you who don't know, it's a fermented drink that hasn't fermented long enough to get any alcohol in it. It was possibly the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted. If given a choice between drinking a glass of kombucha and drinking a glass of liquefied human shit, I would have to think about it before deciding.

“watching porn is a form of rape”

OMG, guys! You know what this means? It means that watching someone being killed in R-rated movies makes you a murderer! It means watching genocide on R-rated movies makes you guilty of genocide! And vegans shouldn’t watch animals being slaughtered, because that makes them just as guilty as if they slaughtered the animal themselves! OMG we should only watch My Little Pony or Teletubbies from now on, you guys!

For Satan’s sake, people… PORN IS NOT REAL. Have you ever seen a porn being filmed? It only LOOKS like sex. It’s really all camera angles and so on. Even if there were real sex in it, it can’t be rape because the actors and actresses involved knew what they were getting into, making them CONSENTING ADULTS. Anyone who believes that porn = rape can just go die in a fire.

Seriously, how can anyone believe this kind of bullshit?
